Character Matters Goes Live Again!
The next Character Matters live edition airs Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at Noon Central Time. That’s 10 am Pacific, 11 am Mountain, and 1 pm Eastern times. Live editions will be occurring regularly (with some exceptions) on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the same time. The live editions will complement the regular Character Matters podcasts on my YouTube Channel. And they will give you a c hance to participate, ask questions, make comments etc.
The Format
Each Character Matters live edition will focus on a primary topic. However, the format is meant to foster discussion on a wide variety of concerns. We welcome all questions, comments, and active discussion. Suffice it to say that the program depends upon participants being civil in their demeanor and behavior. Vulgarity and unruliness will result in exclusion. The upcoming edition will focus on character and power.
Our Purpose
Matters of character are arguably more important today than they have ever been. And information about any matter of concern is inherently empowering. Still, while there’s a lot of information available these days on character disturbance, much of it is inaccurate, and, therefore, disadvantaging. It wasn’t too long ago that no one was talking about character or character disorders. In fact, the psychiatric medical community largely dismissed character as a false construct, casting most every aspect of human behavior as a matter of brain chemistry. Fortunately, the public knew better, especially aggrieved relationship partners. When it comes to narcissism and other character dysfunction, it’s less a matter of biochemistry and more a matter of mindset. It’s also a matter of the heart, and the dispositions that predispose hurtful conduct.
